Vitamins and minerals supplements are not essential for a healthy baby until the breastfeeding is continuing. Mother’s milk is the most excellent for baby fulfilling all needs of baby. A lot of researches have exposed that there is no need to supply any extra or more nutrients to a baby if it is completely or totally healthy. Yes, if your baby is underweight or not healthy by any means, it is to be supplied with rich nutrients. Though, pediatricians suggest or recommended a various kinds of vitamins supplements to be on safer side still to the healthy baby and therefore, vitamin supplements have become one of the schedules prescribed items in doctor’s list.

 

Breast milk is measured to be nectar for a baby at least up to 6-7 months. Studies have exposed that fluoride, water, juice, vitamins, formula, iron and solid foods are very less helpful to healthy breastfed babies particularly during first 6 months of their lives and opposite to that, some could be unsafe if given without any need.

Vitamin A

Vitamin B

Vitamin D

 

The American Academy of Pediatrics suggest you that you should give your baby a supplement of 200 IU per day of vitamin D if it is completely breastfed or drinks less than 17 ounces per day or fortified formula. Breast milk are transferred in breast milk, while fortified formula contains enough amount of Vitamin D. Infant vitamins normally give 400 IU of vitamin D, it is the same amount that is found in 33 ounces of infant formula. Mind it that baby can securely take up to 1000 IU per day of vitamin D and therefore, the amount found in formula or a supplement shall not be too much.

 

Vitamin E

 

You can supply vitamin E from outside as it is obtainable in the form of pills or drops. It is also called as tocopherol. It helps as free radical scavenger and it almost certainly has role in developing immunity.

 

Along with vitamins, minerals are also significant for baby’s development. Fluoride, iron and zinc are similarly beneficial for baby’s health and protection. They give immunity and also nice growth of the bodily systems.

 

Vitamin K
